Job Context:
∎ BRAC is implementing a 3-year long project titled`` AGNEE- Awareness, Action, and Advocacy for Gender-equal and Safe Spaces for Women and Girls`` funded by the EU. The overall objective of this project is to contribute to protection and promotion of women and girls` enjoyment of human rights, gender equality, and the empowerment of women and girls by promoting sexual harassment (SH) and violence-free public spaces, workplaces and digital platforms. The specific result areas of this project are: Enhanced capacity of CSOs to act as a focal to address SH and GBV in work & public places including digital space; increased community awareness and increased linkages with support services strengthens access to services; strengthened SH & GBV mechanism at workplaces & public places contributes to harassment & violence free environment for women; and strengthened SH & GBV mechanism at workplaces & public places contributes to harassment & violence free environment for women.
∎ Project Officer is responsible for implementing Upazila level project activities of ‘Awareness, Actions and Advocacy for Gender Equal and Safe Spaces for Women and Girls (AGNEE)’ project
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Organize, plan and ensure timely and quality implementation of all activities as per activity plan
∎ Conduct awareness sessions on GBV and Sexual Harassment with different target groups
∎ Assist to organize meeting for baseline, end line and assessment survey for GBV protection
∎ Data collection for service mapping and periodic update of service mapping for the Survivor of violence
∎ Facilitate the formation of Sexual Harassment Redress Committee (SHRC) at Educational Institute (EI’s)
∎ Conduct Follow-up meetings with students, teachers, parents, SMC and governing body of local educational institutions on prevention of sexual harassment/ cyber violence
∎ Ensure immediate reporting of GBV incidents and ensure case management supports
∎ Liaison and coordinate with multi stakeholders at upazila level i.e. Government officials, local influential community leaders, school management committee, teachers, NGOs/CSOs and RMG management
∎ Conduct orientation and awareness sessions school management
∎ Prepare monthly MIS and other necessary reports and ensure that all required documentation are maintained at project office
∎ Maintain communication with Technical Manager for smooth coordination and implementation
∎ Follow up project activities for ensuring quality of interventions
∎ Other necessary tasks assigned by the supervisor/management.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 21 years
∎ Experience must include project activities related to prevention of violence against women / safeguarding / legal services implementation
∎ Experience of working with School Management Committee will be an added advantage
∎ Concept on prevention of sexual harassment, GBV prevention, basic legal rights; Knowledge on disability inclusion
∎ Skills in training and facilitation
∎ Skills in data and record management
