Responsibilities & Context:

Harnest (Garments Trims and Accessories Manufacturer) is seeking a skilled and results-driven Yarn Dyeing Production Manager to lead and optimize our yarn dyeing operations. This role requires hands-on experience in managing dyeing processes for various product lines such as crochet, jacquard, elastic, sewing thread, and knitted trims, while ensuring resource optimization, inventory control, and timely execution.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and execute detailed dyeing production plans aligned with sales orders, machine capacity, and dyeing lead times.

  • Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure efficient utilization of dyeing machines and workforce.

  • Coordinate closely with production floor supervisors to adjust schedules and manage any process interruptions.

Order Management

  • Review and interpret order sheets/specifications for yarn dyeing (shade, lot size, lead time).

  • Convert customer orders into actionable dyeing batches, ensuring sequence optimization and quality assurance.

  • Proactively follow up on WIP (Work in Progress) and ensure timely delivery by managing the end-to-end dyeing flow.

Capacity Planning

  • Assess the machine load capacity and manpower availability for various dyeing operations.

  • Identify production bottlenecks and propose capacity enhancement measures such as shift extensions or load balancing.

  • Recommend and evaluate options like subcontracting or outsourcing when internal capacity falls short.

Inventory & Raw Material Control

  • Forecast and monitor dye, chemical, and yarn requirements. Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure proper material usage.

Team Management

  • Supervise planning executives and floor-level dyeing coordinators to ensure smooth execution of plans.

  • Conduct regular planning meetings and set clear performance targets aligned with production goals.

  • Train junior staff on production tracking tools, color batch scheduling, and coordination with cross-functional teams.

Data & Reporting

  • Generate daily and weekly dyeing performance dashboards, including efficiency, re-dye rates, and OTIF (On Time In Full) metrics.

  • Use ERP or dyeing management software to record batch-wise production, machine hours, and wastage data.

  • Submit monthly summary reports to senior management for performance review and planning adjustments.
