∎ other relevant safety certifications preferred.
∎ Strong knowledge of Bangladesh Labour Act, local safety regulations, and international safety standards.
∎ Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
∎ Proficiency in preparing safety reports and documentation.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
∎ Ability to train and motivate teams to prioritize safety practices.Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
∎ Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across Bangladesh
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Position Summary: The Workplace/Project Site Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures at solar project sites to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and stakeholders. The role will focus on preventing accidents, complying with safety regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture across all operations.
∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure compliance with local and national safety regulations, including Bangladesh Labour Act and safety standards applicable to solar project sites.
∎ Develop and implement site-specific safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
∎ Conduct regular inspections and safety audits at project sites to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, or non-compliance.
∎ Recommend corrective actions and monitor their implementation to ensure compliance.
∎ Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and document findings with root cause analysis.
∎ Develop and implement corrective and preventive measures to minimize risks.
∎ Maintain accurate records of incidents, reports, and safety-related documentation.
∎ Provide safety training and toolbox talks to site workers, contractors, and team members to raise safety awareness.
∎ Develop safety campaigns and promote a positive safety culture at all levels of the organization.
∎ Ensure proper use of PPE by all workers and visitors at project sites.
∎ Monitor the condition of PPE and coordinate with the procurement team for timely replacements.
∎ Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and first-aid protocols.
∎ Ensure first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency equipment are readily available and in working condition.
∎ Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports to the HSE Manager and project leadership.
∎ Maintain detailed documentation of all safety-related activities, inspections, and compliance reports.
∎ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure safety is integrated into project planning and execution.
∎ Act as the key point of contact for safety matters at the project site.
