Position Purpose
To ensure efficient, cost-effective and timely procurement of raw materials (waste paper, pulp, chemicals), spare parts, machinery components, packaging materials and other operational requirements for Jamuna Paper Mills Ltd. The role focuses on maintaining uninterrupted production through effective vendor sourcing, negotiation, purchase order management, and compliance with company policies and Bangladesh procurement standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Source and procure raw materials such as waste paper, pulp, starch, chemicals, dyes, and other mill consumables as per production requirements.
• Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PR), Request for Quotations (RFQ), Comparative Statements (CS) and Purchase Orders (PO).
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure timely supply and quality compliance.
• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations and supplier performance.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Store and Accounts departments for procurement planning and material verification.
• Track order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintain procurement records, vendor database, and documentation as per audit and compliance requirements.
Experience
• 4–6 years of experience in procurement or purchase functions, preferably in paper mills, manufacturing, or FMCG industries.
• Practical knowledge of sourcing industrial raw materials and technical spare parts.
• Experience handling local and import procurement will be an added advantage.
Educational Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Industrial Management, or relevant discipline.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Analytical mindset with strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a production-driven manufacturing environment.
