Position Purpose
To oversee, coordinate, and optimize all production activities at Jamuna Paper Mills Ltd., ensuring efficient and continuous operation of paper manufacturing processes. This role supports in planning, monitoring, and improving production workflows, maintaining product quality, meeting production targets and implementing safety and operational standards across all production departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Plan, supervise and coordinate production operations across pulping, papermaking, finishing and packing departments to ensure timely and efficient output.
• Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
• Ensure adherence to product quality standards and other regulatory or internal quality requirements.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance and operational procedures in coordination with the maintenance department to minimize downtime.
• Oversee manpower deployment, shift scheduling and team coordination to ensure smooth workflow and optimal utilization of resources.
• Analyze production reports, KPIs and machine performance metrics to make informed decisions and recommendations.
• Support budgeting, cost control and resource planning within the production function.
• Lead, mentor, and develop departmental managers, supervisors and operators to build a high-performing production team.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and operational policies and guidelines.
• Coordinate with other departments, including QA/QC, maintenance, logistics and procurement, to maintain seamless operations.
• Participate in management meetings and contribute to strategic planning and operational decisions.
Experience
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in production management, preferably in pulp and paper manufacturing or similar heavy industry.
• Proven track record in overseeing multiple production departments, managing large teams and implementing process improvements.
• Experience in production planning, quality control, cost management, and safety compliance.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Paper Technology Engineering; Master’s degree or MBA in Operations/Production is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• In-depth understanding of paper mill operations, equipment, and production processes.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage large teams, coordinate inter-departmental activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
