Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality control roles within the paper or similar heavy manufacturing industry.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven track record in leading quality assurance initiatives, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement in paper mill environments.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise in Quality Control Systems (QCS), laboratory testing, statistical analysis, and quality audit frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Advanced proficiency in quality reporting tools and MS Office.
Responsibilities & Context: Position Purpose
To lead and oversee comprehensive quality control systems at Jamuna Paper Mills Ltd., ensuring all production outputs comply with internal and external quality standards. This role supports operational excellence through robust testing, measurement and continuous improvement, ultimately safeguarding product consistency, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures across production stages to meet defined standards.
- Manage laboratory operations for physical and chemical testing (e.g., basis weight, moisture, caliper, brightness), ensuring accurate and reliable results.
- Monitor quality parameters using paper machine Quality Control Systems (QCS) for continuous measurement of properties like ash content, coat weight, formation, and moisture profiles.
- Analyze quality performance data, investigate deviations or customer complaints and lead corrective and preventive action initiatives.
- Oversee internal quality audits and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and certifications.
- Supervise and mentor QC team members—inspectors, lab technicians—to build capability and ensure procedure adherence.
- Prepare and present quality metrics and trend reports for senior management review and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with departments like production, maintenance, engineering and R&D to ensure product quality at all stages.
- Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives, including equipment upgrades, trials and digitalization of QC processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of QC systems, lab records, and technical specifications to meet audit readiness and traceability requirements.
