Doreen Maritime Management Limited (DMML) is a maritime and shipping services company operating under the umbrella of Doreen Group, one of Bangladesh’s diversified business conglomerates. Established to strengthen the Group’s presence in waterway logistics and coastal shipping, DMML manages and operates a fleet of lighter and cargo vessels for the transportation of bulk goods across inland river routes and coastal areas of Bangladesh.
As an SCM Executive / Senior Executive at Doreen Maritime Management Limited, will play a key role in supporting end-to-end supply chain and procurement functions for the company’s fleet — including sourcing and buying spare parts, materials, and services required for lighter vessels, coordinating logistics, managing vendor relations, and ensuring timely delivery of required supplies.
This role is ideal for early to mid-level professionals with industry knowledge in procurement, maritime logistics, and vendor coordination — particularly in the context of ship supplies, spare parts, and vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Purchasing
Assist in sourcing and procuring spare parts, machinery components, tools, and technical materials needed for lighter vessels and other fleet requirements.
Liaise with departments (Technical, Operations, Fleet) to understand parts and supply needs from vessels.
Collect quotations from local and overseas suppliers, prepare comparative statements (CS), and assist in vendor selection & Purchase Order (PO) preparation.
Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms to secure competitive deals.
2. Vendor / Supplier Management
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ship chandlers, and service providers for marine items and vessel services.
Evaluate supplier performance (quality, delivery, pricing) and help expand the supplier base.
Assist in onboarding new vendors and service providers.
3. Logistics & Coordination
Coordinate the logistics of imported and local parts, including documentation, freight, customs (as applicable), delivery to port/warehouse, and onward distribution to vessels.
Follow up with freight forwarders, ports, and agents for timely delivery.
4. Inventory & Documentation
Monitor stock levels of critical parts and supplies to ensure availability when needed.
Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, supplier communications, purchase orders, delivery confirmations, and invoice documentation.
Support inventory control efforts and suggest improvements to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
5. Reporting & Coordination
Prepare periodic procurement reports (e.g., cost analysis, supplier evaluations, delivery status).
Provide regular updates to management on procurement status and expected delivery times.
Coordinate with internal finance teams for supplier billing and payment processing.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance
Verify that procured items meet required technical and safety specifications for maritime operations.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and documentation standards.
