Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context

As the organization scales its manufacturing operations across multiple units, there is a critical need for a dedicated, central function to drive productivity, standardize processes and control manufacturing costs on a scientific basis. Currently, Industrial Engineering practices vary across units, standard times and costing methods are not uniformly applied, and there is no single point of accountability for productivity, efficiency and cost-engineering performance at the organizational level. The Head of Central Industrial Engineering (IE) Unit is being created to fill this gap: to build and lead a central IE function that sets consistent standards, tools and KPIs across all manufacturing units; drives productivity, capacity and manpower planning through scientific methods; and partners with Production, SCM, Quality, Finance, Maintenance and Product Development to embed a culture of continuous improvement and cost discipline throughout the organization. This role will report to senior management and is expected to play a strategic part in improving overall manufacturing competitiveness and profitability.

  1. Establish, develop and lead a high-performing Central Industrial Engineering (IE) Team across all manufacturing units.

  2. Develop and implement the organization's Industrial Engineering strategy, policies and standards.

  3. Lead productivity improvement initiatives through scientific Industrial Engineering tools and techniques.

  4. Conduct and oversee Time Study, Motion Study, Work Measurement and Method Improvement activities.

  5. Develop and maintain Standard Time (SMV/Cycle Time) for all manufacturing processes.

  6. Lead Line Balancing, Capacity Planning and Scientific Manpower Planning to maximize operational efficiency.

  7. Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives throughout the organization.

  8. Lead Product Costing and Cost Engineering activities, including BOM analysis, labour costing, overhead allocation and product profitability analysis.

  9. Identify and implement Cost Reduction opportunities without compromising product quality.

  10. Optimize factory layout, material flow and production processes to improve productivity.

  11. Develop, monitor and report Productivity, Efficiency, OEE and other IE KPIs through management dashboards.

  12. Work closely with Production, SCM, Quality, Finance, Maintenance and Product Development teams to achieve operational excellence.

  13. Support new product development through process planning, capacity analysis and production readiness.

  14. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and support operational excellence initiatives, including ISO, FSC and other management systems.

  15. Mentor, develop and build the competency of the Industrial Engineering team while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.

16.  Build, develop and lead a high-performing Central Industrial Engineering (IE) team
