Experience:
Diploma/B.Sc. in Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE), Textile Engineering, Leather Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or related discipline.
Candidates with extensive practical experience in handbag manufacturing may also be considered.
•3–8 years of experience in handbag, leather goods, footwear, or export-oriented manufacturing.
•Hands-on experience in handbag construction, sewing techniques, operation breakdown, and production layout preparation.
•Experience working with international premium brands such as Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, or similar brands will be an added advantage.
•Strong knowledge of sewing methods, machine applications, quality workmanship standards, and operator training.
•Ability to interpret technical specifications, process sheets, and production documents.
•Expert knowledge of handbag construction and manufacturing processes.
•Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to train and develop operators with effective coaching techniques.
•Good understanding of production layout, line setup, and workflow optimization.
•Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement concepts.
•Strong communication and teamwork skills.
•Positive attitude with a strong commitment to quality and on-time delivery.
•Analyze handbag designs, construction methods, and manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production.
•Prepare production layouts, operation breakdowns, workstation arrangements, and process flow for new styles.
•Develop the best sewing and assembly methods to achieve optimum productivity and product quality.
•Train, coach, and certify operators on new styles, sewing techniques, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
•Provide technical guidance to Production, IE, and Quality teams during pilot runs and bulk production.
•Troubleshoot technical and workmanship issues during production and implement effective corrective actions.
•Improve production methods by simplifying operations and reducing non-value-added activities.
•Work closely with Product Development, IE, Quality, and Production teams during sample development and production transition.
•Assist in line setup, balancing, and process validation for new product introductions.
•Ensure compliance with buyer specifications, workmanship standards, and quality requirements.
•Support continuous improvement initiatives through Kaizen, process optimization, and best practice sharing.
•Identify technical risks and recommend preventive measures to improve first-pass yield and reduce rework.
•Develop skill matrices and conduct on-the-job training to enhance operator competency.
•Provide technical support for production troubleshooting and style changeovers.
•Perform any other technical assignments as directed by management.
