Experience:
HSC or Bachelor degree in any discipline.
At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in the apparel/garment industry, with a proven track record of handling subcontracting, external sourcing, or merchandising operations for knitting and dyeing items.
Thorough technical knowledge of knit fabrics, yarn counts, dyeing processes, and finishing parameters.
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Job Context: We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional for the position of Asst. Manager / Manager - Knitting & Dyeing. In this role, you will manage our end-to-end external sourcing operations, coordinating closely with outside knitting and dyeing vendors to ensure timely delivery, strict quality standards, and cost efficiency for our garment manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Sourcing & Relationship Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable external knitting and dyeing factories, building strong strategic partnerships to secure competitive rates and reliable capacity.
Production Scheduling & Follow-up: Translate garment production requirements into external work orders, tracking daily and weekly progress of grey fabric knitting, dyeing, and finishing batches with third-party vendors.
Quality Assurance & Inspection: Coordinate with internal and external QA teams to ensure all processed fabrics meet required parameters (GSM, shade matching, color fastness, shrinkage, and width) before factory delivery.
Logistics & Inventory Coordination: Oversee the smooth movement of raw materials (yarn dispatch to vendors) and finished fabric deliveries (receiving from vendors), maintaining accurate stock logs and reconciliation reports.
Cost Negotiation & Bill Processing: Negotiate competitive processing and conversion rates, verify vendor bills against actual challans and delivery notes, and process timely payments in coordination with accounts.
Risk & Defect Management: Proactively identify bottlenecks, shipment delays, or color-matching issues with third-party units and implement quick corrective actions to protect production lines.
