Job Context:

One of the leading conglomerates in the garments industries of Bangladesh, is looking for Assistant General Manager- HR for Corporate located at Dhaka. The incumbent must have initiative, experience and the drive to deliver high-quality results.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives.

  • Lead manpower planning, recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.

  • Oversee performance management systems, including goal setting, evaluations, and feedback processes.

  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable labor laws, factory acts, and HR best practices.

  • Build and maintain strong employee relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures.

  • Oversee payroll, compensation, and benefits management in coordination with the finance department.

  • Drive employee engagement, motivation, and retention strategies.

  • Manage learning and development programs to enhance workforce capabilities.

  • Supervise and guide HR teams at the head office and coordinate with factory HR for alignment and consistency.

  • Represent the HR department in audits, compliance inspections, and external stakeholder meetings (e.g., buyers, auditors).

  • Prepare HR reports and analytics for top management decision-making.

Educational Requirements:

  • 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, specifically in the garments/apparel/textile industry.

  • At least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role (e.g., Manager or above).

    Additional Requirements:

  • Age at least 35 years

  • Excellent communication skills in English, with strong presentation and negotiation abilities, time management and organizational skills are essential.

  • Complete knowledge of human resources best practices and legal requirements governing the same.

  • Knowing ERP, data management, analysis and report- generating skills

  • Strong knowledge of Bangladesh Labor Law and factory compliance requirements.
