Responsibilities & Context:

• Manage and lead overall extrusion shop floor operations during the shift, ensuring safe working conditions, optimal press utilization, and adherence to production targets.

• Oversee the operation of four extrusion presses (800T, 1000T, 1450T, and 2500T), ensuring peak performance and machine reliability across all tonnage capacities.

•  Execute daily production plans using lean principles to maximize operational efficiency, optimize throughput, and minimize metal scrap.

• Manage shift rosters and manpower allocation to optimize labor productivity while reducing energy consumption and overall processing waste.

• Continuously monitor and fine-tune critical extrusion parameters—including billet temperature, container heat, and extrusion speed—to maintain high productivity and profile integrity.

• Troubleshoot production issues in real time, identifying and resolving surface defects such as pick-ups, streaks, and die lines.

• Enforce strict quality standards to ensure profiles consistently achieve required surface finish, dimensional precision, and visual shine.

• Manage ageing oven thermal cycles and residence times to guarantee finished profiles meet exact Webster hardness, tensile strength, and elongation specifications.

• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to engineers, supervisors, operators, and laboratory personnel to strengthen operational capability and process efficiency.
