Experience:

Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries is established a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery having a production capacity of 1.5 million MT per annum. The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets, which will meet the uprising demand in the local market and will also bring significant economic growth by exporting around the globe. We are looking for a competent and experienced Shift In-Charge – Quality Control for its Steel Melt Shop (SMS) Plant. The incumbent will be responsible for the QC laboratory activities during assigned shifts, ensuring timely and accurate chemical analysis of molten steel, billets, raw materials, and process consumables. The role requires close coordination with EAF, LRF, CCM, and Production teams to ensure product quality, process stability, and uninterrupted plant operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise all Quality Control laboratory activities during the assigned shift by allocating resources, monitoring workflows, and coordinating laboratory personnel to ensure uninterrupted testing operations.
Perform chemical analysis of molten steel, billets, ferroalloys, slag, fluxes, and refractories using OES Spectrometer, XRF Analyzer, and standard laboratory procedures to ensure accurate and timely test results.
Oversee the operation of OES Spectrometer and XRF Analyzer by ensuring proper testing, calibration, and adherence to laboratory procedures to maintain accurate and reliable analytical results.
Verify steel chemistry against approved grade specifications by reviewing analytical results before heat release to ensure product quality and customer compliance.
Coordinate with EAF, LRF, CCM, and Production teams by communicating test results and quality status to support smooth production and minimize process delays.
Monitor laboratory instruments through routine calibration, performance verification, and preventive maintenance to ensure reliable analytical accuracy and equipment availability.
Maintain laboratory records, calibration logs, test reports, and shift documentation in accordance with QMS requirements to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
Investigate quality deviations by analyzing laboratory data, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve process stability.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, ISO Quality Management System (QMS), SOPs, and housekeeping standards to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
Lead QC technicians and laboratory personnel by providing technical guidance, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring performance to achieve operational efficiency and quality objectives.
Report shift performance, quality issues, and critical observations to the QC head and incoming shift through comprehensive handover and reporting to ensure operational continuity.
