- 8–10 years of relevant experience in commercial, procurement, or supply chain management roles, preferably in the manufacturing or paper industry.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.·
- Professional certification in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics (e.g., CSCP, CPM, or CIPS) is a plus.
- Proven experience in import/export operations, including handling of LCs, customs clearance, and shipping logistics.
- Strong background in vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost control.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to trade, taxation, and local government bodies.
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory management tools is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with finance, production, and logistics teams.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, LC handling, and customs procedures.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong sense of commercial acumen.
Responsibilities & Context: Position Purpose
We are looking for a Manager – Commercial who oversees procurement, logistics, vendor management, and import/export operations to ensure cost-effective and timely supply of materials. The role supports business continuity by aligning commercial activities with company goals and regulatory requirements, reporting directly to the Head of Department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage procurement of raw materials, machinery, and other essentials as per production needs.
- Handle import/export documentation, LC processing, and coordination with banks and customs.
- Maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores and production departments.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure cost-efficiency and value.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
- Collaborate with finance and accounts for timely payment and cost analysis.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement, inventory, and commercial activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Support internal audits and assist in resolving commercial discrepancies.
