Key Responsibilities:

A. Import Management

• Plan and execute all import-related activities including LC opening, amendment, shipment tracking, and document handling.

• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, banks and C&F agents to ensure timely clearance of imported goods.

• Monitor shipment schedules and take corrective action to avoid production delays.

• Ensure compliance with customs, VAT and other regulatory authorities during import operations.

• Negotiate with shipping lines and service providers for competitive freight and service terms.

B. Bond & Customs Compliance

• Maintain and control bond licenses, utilization declarations (UD) and related documentation.

• Ensure accurate and timely submission of bond reports to customs authorities.

• Monitor raw material inventory and usage in alignment with bond rules.

• Coordinate for annual bond audit and license renewal.

• Liaise with regulatory bodies to resolve customs or bond-related issues efficiently.

C. Local Procurement

• Oversee local purchase of raw materials, packaging items, consumables and services as per company requirements.

• Ensure supplier evaluation, selection, and development for reliable sourcing.

• Review purchase requisitions and approve procurement as per company policy.

• Monitor procurement costs, lead time and vendor performance.

• Ensure all procurement processes adhere to internal control and compliance policies.

D. Team Management & Coordination

• Lead and guide the commercial team to ensure high performance and compliance.

• Coordinate closely with Finance, Production, and Warehouse departments for smooth operations.

• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for commercial activities and ensure proper implementation.

• Train and mentor subordinates to build departmental capability.

E. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare periodic reports on import status, bond utilization, and procurement performance.

• Maintain all commercial documentation systematically for audit and reference.

• Support management in commercial planning, cost analysis, and budgeting.
