Experience:
Masters in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or relevant operational field.
Professional certification such as CIPS / CSCM / PGD in SCM will be an added advantage.
Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in procurement, preferably in Animal Feed Manufacturing, agriculture, or the industrial manufacturing sector.
Direct experience in sourcing feed raw materials (Maize, Soybean Meal, Rice Polish, Amino Acids), packaging supplies, and industrial engineering spares.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, market dynamics, import commercial operations (L/C opening, C&F clearance), and supplier management.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, price forecasting, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / or similar enterprise ERP) and advanced MS Excel / data analytics.
Strong ethical standards, integrity, and compliance mindset.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure with tight operational deadlines.
The Assistant Manager / Manager - Procurement will be responsible for managing all sourcing, vendor relationships, and purchase operations to ensure a timely, cost-effective, and quality supply of materials, goods, and services for Quality Feeds Limited's production and operational needs. The incumbent will play a vital role in vendor management, price negotiation, procurement planning, commercial import coordination, and compliance with company SOPs.
Responsibilities:
· Manage and execute the end-to-end procurement process from purchase requisition (PR) to purchase order (PO) and final delivery.
· Source feed raw materials, packaging materials, engineering spares, consumables, and general items locally and internationally.
· Track global and domestic commodity price trends and seasonal market dynamics to make data-backed procurement decisions.
· Review purchase requisitions and ensure accuracy, technical completeness, and budget compliance.
· Work closely with production, engineering, finance, quality control (QC), and warehouse teams to forecast and plan procurement needs without causing stock-outs.
· Coordinate timely delivery of materials to factory sites to avoid production delays.
· Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to ensure quality and cost competitiveness; maintain an updated Approved Vendor List (AVL).
· Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations based on quality, delivery lead time, competitive pricing, and service.
· Negotiate contracts, payment terms (L/C, Credit, TT), and pricing to achieve significant cost savings without compromising material quality.
· Manage import procurement processes including draft L/C scrutiny, C&F agent coordination, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance (Department of Livestock Services / Plant Quarantine clearance).
· Ensure all purchase orders, contracts, and invoices are properly documented, audited, and maintained in compliance with company SOPs.
· Drive digital procurement efficiency through SAP/Oracle ERP workflows and maintain complete operational transparency.
· Support senior management with data-driven insights, procurement variance reports, and market intelligence.
