Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
MBA preferred.
Professional certification in Supply Chain / Procurement (e.g., CPSCM, CIPS) is an added advantage.
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in commercial, procurement, or supply chain roles.
Experience in manufacturing, engineering, automotive, or industrial sectors is highly preferred.
Proven track record in handling import-export, LC, customs clearance, and vendor negotiation.
Position Overview
The Commercial Manager is responsible for leading all commercial activities including procurement, sourcing, vendor management, import & export operations, logistics, inventory planning, and commercial documentation. The role ensures cost efficiency, supply chain reliability, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Commercial Manager works closely with production, finance, and operations teams to support uninterrupted factory operations and timely delivery of materials.
Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing
Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, components, consumables, and services.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.
Conduct price negotiations, issue purchase orders, and manage contract agreements.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strategic vendor relationships.
Import & Export Operations
Manage all import activities including LC documentation, HS code classification, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and coordination with banks.
Ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies for bonded and non-bonded imports.
Oversee export documentation, shipment coordination, and liaison with regulatory agencies where applicable.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
Plan and control inbound and outbound logistics to support uninterrupted production.
Optimize transport routes, warehousing, and storage to minimize cost and lead time.
Maintain close coordination with production, stores, and finance to ensure material availability and accurate inventory levels.
Cost Control & Budget Management
Prepare and monitor annual commercial budgets.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or continuity.
Conduct market studies and price benchmarking to support decision-making.
Commercial Documentation & Compliance
Ensure all commercial documents (LC, BTB, PO, PI, Bill of Entry, shipping documents, contracts) are accurate and compliant.
Maintain strong documentation discipline and audit readiness.
Work with finance and accounts on payment processing, bank liaison and reconciliation.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead, guide, and develop the commercial team to ensure high performance.
Work closely with production, engineering, finance, and HR to align commercial activities with operational goals.
Resolve commercial disputes and escalate issues when necessary.
