Role Purpose
The Deputy General Manager (Distribution& Logistics) will be responsible for end-to-end management of Hatim Group’s nationwide distribution, fleet operations, warehousing coordination, and logistics strategy across all business units.
The role ensures on-time delivery, optimized transportation cost, inventory movement efficiency, strong dealer service levels, and scalability as the Group expands across Bangladesh.
Key Responsibilities
1. Group-Level Distribution Strategy• Develop and implement distribution and logistics strategies for all Hatim Group companies
• Design optimal distribution networks (factory → warehouse → showroom → dealer)
• Standardize distribution processes across product categories (pipes, furniture, fittings, etc.)
2. Transportation & Fleet Management
• Oversee company-owned and outsourced vehicle fleets
• Optimize route planning, vehicle utilization, and delivery schedules
• Monitor fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle productivity
• Control transportation cost per unit / per delivery
3. Warehousing & Inventory Movement
• Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams for smooth stock movement
• Ensure accurate dispatch planning and loading efficiency
• Reduce damages, shortages, and transit losses
• Support FIFO/FEFO compliance where applicable
4. Dealer & Showroom Distribution Operations
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery to:
• Dealers
• Retail showrooms
• Project sites
• Work closely with Sales & Marketing to align delivery priorities
• Resolve delivery complaints, shortages, and delays effectively
5. Process Control, SOP & Compliance
• Develop and enforce SOPs for dispatch, loading, transportation, and delivery
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and legal transport regulations
• Implement control systems to prevent pilferage, misuse, or inefficiency
6. Team Leadership & Performance Management
• Lead and mentor distribution managers, transport officers, dispatch teams, and supervisors
• Set KPIs for delivery time, cost efficiency, vehicle utilization, and service quality
• Conduct regular performance reviews and corrective actions
7. Cost Control & Reporting
• Prepare and analyze MIS reports on:
• Transportation cost
• Delivery performance
• Vehicle utilization
• Damage and loss trends
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements
8. ERP, MIS & Digital Integration
• Work closely with IT/MIS teams to strengthen ERP-based dispatch & tracking
• Ensure real-time coordination between Sales Orders, Dispatch, and Accounts
• Support digitization of transport logs, delivery confirmation, and fleet monitoring
9. Expansion & Capacity Planning
• Plan distribution capacity for new:
• Factories
• Warehouses
• Showrooms
• Support geographic expansion and volume growth of Hatim Group
