Educational Requirements:
∎ Textile Graduate in Apparel Merchandising, Textile Technology or equivalent of Fashion Diploma from a well reputed institute

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 8 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Independently manage Sweater product development, understand latest fashion trends, source new yarns and develop customer specific collections with production feasibility
∎ Continuously update the Sweater yarns, trims, print embroideries, washes and stitch library including technical data and price idea for easy reference
∎ Understand customer requirements and closely work with design team to manage the correct samples within time and quality
∎ Set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities
∎ Closely follow up on production and samples with factories and ensure all related procedures
∎ Communicate with buyers on day to day merchandising activities and approvals
∎ Prepare the QA files and ensure timely handover to both buyers and our QA
∎ Accomplish merchandising cycle (File / Record keeping / Sampling / TNAs / QA file making / Production follow ups / Shipment booking)
∎ Source and ensure timely booking and delivery of trims, accessories, and yarns (overseas and local)
∎ Prepare costing sheets with all the necessary breakdowns from factories
∎ Communicate with factories on lab dip, fabric, proto submission based on set timelines
∎ Study tech packs thoroughly and work closely with the fabric mills and suppliers ahead of design packs to develop new fabrics and finishes to reduce lead time
∎ Ensure all suppliers are using nominated sources for trims
∎ Provide monthly intelligence report to the business on actual and potential rises and falls in current cost factors
∎ Visit factories regularly to get market intelligence
∎ Coordinate and monitor quality of the product through quality personnel
∎ Meticulously monitor shipment of the products and maintain Time and Action (T&A) plan to ensure 100% on-time shipment
∎ Proactively source factories with approval from management to explore options and broaden supply chain
∎ Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 8 years merchandising experience in a reputed buying office or factory, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity
∎ Must have extensive experience of product development, sourcing of materials, costing, production tracking and execution of orders independently
∎ Candidates with experience in handling Retailers and Brands would be preferred
∎ Profound knowledge of Sweater garment engineering and production processes is required
∎ Have sound knowledge and an excellent network of yarn, print, embroidery & trims suppliers - should be able to source & develop new products independently
∎ Should have excellent understanding of Sweater technical / production process
∎ Should have a passion for product development, an eye for styles/details and fits.
∎ Must be capable to handle buyers independently in tremendous pressure with aggressive marketing attitude
∎ Must have skills in examining and establishing proper merchandising operations and procedures
∎ Good understanding of core business aspects
∎ Should have ideas about effective communication for raw materials, booking and delivery
∎ Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team
∎ Should be well-groomed, smart and energetic
∎ Strong presentation and delivery skills
∎ Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
∎ IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Specially, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
∎ Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
∎ Ability to multitask and remain organized, while meeting deadlines
