Responsibilities & Context:

Maritime Entrepreneurs Pte. Ltd. (MEPL) is looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking HR professional to join as Deputy Manager – People & Culture. The role will play a key part in shaping a strong organizational culture, driving employee engagement, strengthening HR processes, and supporting end-to-end HR operations to ensure a high-performing and people-centric workplace aligned with the company’s strategic growth objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Culture Development

  • Lead initiatives to build and strengthen a positive, high-performance, and people-centric workplace culture.

  • Design and execute employee engagement programs, wellness initiatives, recognition programs, and team-building activities.

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee experience, motivation, and organizational belonging.

  • Promote the company's core values and ensure they are embedded across all functions.

  • Conduct employee feedback surveys, analyze insights, and recommend improvement initiatives.

HR Process Development & Compliance

  • Develop, review, and improve HR policies, SOPs, and organizational processes to increase efficiency and consistency.

  • Identify process gaps and implement best HR practices through automation and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and internal governance requirements.

  • Maintain accurate HR documentation, records, and reporting systems.

Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including manpower planning, sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.

  • Partner with department heads to understand hiring needs and ensure timely recruitment.

  • Strengthen the organization's employer branding through recruitment campaigns and talent acquisition initiatives.

  • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for all new employees.

Employee Relations

  • Foster a positive employee relations environment by addressing workplace concerns professionally and confidentially.

  • Guide managers on employee relations matters, performance discussions, and disciplinary procedures.

  • Support conflict resolution and promote effective communication across departments.

Learning & Organizational Development

  • Identify organizational capability gaps and recommend appropriate learning and development initiatives.

  • Coordinate internal and external training programs and evaluate their effectiveness.

  • Support leadership development, succession planning, and performance improvement initiatives.

HR Operations

  • Oversee HR operations including employee lifecycle management, attendance, leave administration, payroll inputs, confirmations, transfers, and separation processes.

  • Ensure HRIS data accuracy and generate HR reports for management.

  • Monitor HR metrics and recommend data-driven improvements.

Strategic HR Support

  • Work closely with senior management to implement People & Culture strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Drive organizational change initiatives and support business transformation projects.

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional HR and organizational development projects.

  • Continuously recommend innovative practices to improve employee engagement, productivity, and organizational effectiveness.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline.

  • MBA/MHRM will be considered an advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Human Resources, with at least 4 years in a managerial or leadership role.

  • Hands-on experience in employee engagement, organizational development, culture transformation, and HR process improvement will be highly preferred.
