Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor/ Masters in any discipline.
∎ B.Sc in Textile Engineering from any reputed university preferred.

∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ As an Assistant Merchandiser you will play a key part of the team; you will assist and support the merchandiser to manage supplier strategy, performance, and relationships, supporting the retailer in country with all order placement.
∎ Understand overall business performance, strategy & requirements for the season / year ahead
∎ Assist to evaluate supplier / factory performance & provide achieved analytics on supplier KPI's including on time shipments, defective returns, inspection pass rates, working on relevant improvement plans and provide recommendations to for supplier with growth/ decline opportunities.
∎ Understanding of each supplier and factory capability, capacity, compliance, future strategy and potential opportunities.
∎ Support merchandiser & retailer to work with supplier base to enact & drive the retailers strategic initiatives on sustainability, lead time reduction and value chain improvements, improving efficiencies year on year.
∎ Support the merchandiser to obtain and onboard new supplier & factory sources to provide economical volume-driven sources of supply which will improve margin and supply.
∎ Understand forecast volumes and manage upfront capacity & griege planning with suppliers to secure the requirements and manage in season efficiently
∎ Liaise with Suppliers and the retailer on a day-to-day basis for issue and query resolution
∎ Understand trend direction for the season and assist merchandiser to brief suppliers accordingly
∎ Assist to risk assess design packs and ensure right fabric / size spec / make-up are briefed to the right suppliers, supporting on product engineering
∎ With the merchandiser visit manufacturer’s/producer’s facilities, obtain samples and price quotes, liaising with Suppliers with product development feedback, helping to ensure samples adhere to the Recipient’s sealed sample process.
∎ Support costing preparation and negotiations, to ensure right first-time pricing strategy & support to hit seasonal margin targets with year on year improvements
∎ Assist with placing orders and finalising samples to the extent requested on behalf of the Recipient, ensuring that all orders specify that the Recipient is the buyer.
∎ Complete end to end progressing for all orders, in line with the critical path requirements managing capacity requirements with the suppliers / factories.

∎ Ability to build clear, confident, positive communication with company colleagues and suppliers with the ability to form relationships, influence, and work collaboratively across the business
∎ Good interpersonal, influencing, listening, organizational, presentation and decision-making skills
∎ Self-motivated and able to work under pressure, quickly and efficiently
∎ Excellent communication skills & fluent in English – written & verbal
∎ Good time management.
