Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor/ Masters in any discipline.
∎ B.Sc in Textile Engineering from any reputed university preferred.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ As an Assistant Fabric Technologist you will play a key part of the team. You will assist and support to drive the color and fabric process from Design through to Supply Chain ensuring that best practice are implemented to drive cost and time efficiencies whilst delivering right product / right supplier.
∎ Support to identify and establish key fabric trends for the upcoming season covering woven and jersey fabric for all products and prepare key trend presentations to the buying and design teams.
∎ Work with the fabric technologist to source and manage the fabric supply base and expand the respective network in Bangladesh, India, and overseas countries to introduce new sourcing routes.
∎ Understand and keep up to date with fabric pricing, consumptions and duty regulations to provide key commercials to product negotiation to enable margin improvement.
∎ Support on driving strategic seasonal cross costing projects on core programs globally, managing fabric consolidation opportunities.
∎ Work with the technologist to gather information to create tech packs where appropriate.
∎ Accompany where required the fabric technologist on visits & interaction with mills to….......
∎ Review new sources, identify key trends and gather innovation on fibres, yarn, process and chemicals
∎ Risk assess capabilities, specialties and drive best practice
∎ Problem shoot and manage critical path when required "
∎ Support Retailer and Suppliers with Key Fabric Standards (KFS) through accreditation, approvals and identifying right source to achieve quality, delivery, and sustainability goals
∎ Where required support in managing approvals for lab dips, bulk, and strike offs
∎ Actively manage fabric sourcing critical path & manage day-to-day fabric sourcing requests.
∎ With the fabric technologist ensure fabric test reports are meeting requirements and support in coordinating fabric testing with the necessary third-party labs.
∎ When required support in inspecting the quality of fabric for quality inspection with the suppliers & factories
∎ With the quality team and with the fabric technologist support to develop and drive the use of 3D technology for fabric to drive a reduced lead time, cost efficiencies and better sustainability.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Good knowledge & experience in apparel manufacturing and retail
∎ Up to date with the latest fabric and sustainability trends, best practices, and textile processes - spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing. Understanding of print techniques, cost & capabilities.
∎ Ability to build clear, confident, positive communication with company colleagues and suppliers with the ability to form relationships, influence, and work collaboratively across the business
∎ 3D technology skills and experience
∎ Good interpersonal, influencing, listening, organisational, presentation and decision-making skills
∎ Self-motivated and able to work under pressure, quickly and efficiently
∎ Excellent communication skills & fluent in English – written & verbal
∎ Good time management
