Responsibilities & Context:
  • Line Balancing and Manpower Optimization: Count line-wise manpower, analyze bottlenecks, and balance production lines to ensure smooth workflow and optimal operator utilization.

  • SMV Calculation and Time Study: Conduct time and motion studies to calculate accurate Standard Minute Values (SMV) for various styles and operations.

  • Operation Breakdown Preparation: Create detailed operation bulletins and layout plans for sewing, cutting, and finishing sections prior to production runs.

  • Capacity and Efficiency Studies: Perform capacity studies, monitor hourly production data, and track overall plant or line efficiency against targets.

  • Cost and Waste Reduction: Identify non-value-added activities, minimize material handling waste, and help lower production costs through method improvements.

  • Target Setting and Monitoring: Establish realistic hourly and daily production targets for operators and supervisors, and review performance reports to flag productivity losses.

  • Pre-Production Meetings (PP Meeting): Participate in pre-production alignment meetings to discuss potential technical challenges, line layouts, and target efficiencies for new styles.

  • Incentive and Piece-Rate Management: Assist in setting up fair piece-rate systems or operator incentive structures based on standard outputs.

  • Skill Matrix and Training Support: Maintain operator skill matrices and coordinate with training departments to upgrade low-performing workers.
