The company is currently developing its Quality Management System in preparation for ISO 9001 certification. We are looking for a motivated and well-organised Graduate Management Trainee to support the implementation and ongoing management of the ISO 9001 system, document control and supplier factory evaluation programme.
The selected candidate will work directly under the supervision of the Managing Director and in coordination with the merchandising and quality-control teams. The position combines office-based quality-system work with regular visits to garment factories in and around Dhaka.
This is a six-month Graduate Management Trainee programme with the possibility of permanent employment based on performance and business requirements.
Key responsibilities:
ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Green Channels ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Help prepare, review and update quality procedures, work instructions, forms, manuals, registers and other controlled documents.
Maintain the document control system, including document identification, numbering, approval, revision history, distribution, archiving and withdrawal of obsolete versions.
Ensure that employees have access to the correct and approved versions of procedures, forms and work instructions.
Collect, organise and maintain records demonstrating the effective implementation of company procedures.
Assist the different departments in understanding and correctly using the approved ISO 9001 documents and records.
Maintain registers for non-conformities, corrective actions, risks, opportunities and improvement actions.
Follow up with responsible employees to ensure that corrective and improvement actions are completed within the agreed deadlines.
Assist in monitoring quality objectives, key performance indicators and departmental action plans.
Help prepare internal audit plans, checklists, reports and follow-up records.
Participate in internal audits under the supervision of management or a qualified auditor.
Assist in preparing management review meetings and maintaining the related records and action plans.
Support Green Channels during ISO 9001 pre-assessment and certification audits.
Help maintain and improve the Quality Management System after certification.
Supplier and Factory Management
Maintain and regularly update the approved supplier and factory database.
Collect, review and organise supplier company profiles, factory information and supporting documents.
Maintain records of factory production capabilities, product specialisations, minimum order quantities and other supplier information.
Collect and verify supplier certifications and audit reports, including BSCI, SEDEX, OEKO-TEX, GOTS, OCS, GRS, RCS, ISO and other relevant standards.
Monitor certification and audit-report expiry dates and contact suppliers to obtain renewed or updated documents.
Assist in preparing the annual or periodic supplier evaluation and factory-audit programme.
Participate in the evaluation of new and existing garment factories.
Prepare factory-visit plans, questionnaires, checklists and required supporting documents.
Participate in supplier audits and factory visits with the Managing Director, Merchandising Manager, Quality Manager or another authorised representative.
Review factory organisation, production capacity, machinery, quality-control systems, traceability, documentation and subcontracting arrangements.
Verify whether factories have appropriate systems for incoming material control, cutting, sewing, finishing, packing, final inspection and shipment release.
Record audit findings accurately and collect relevant supporting evidence.
Prepare clear and professional factory evaluation and supplier audit reports in English.
Classify audit findings as observations, minor non-conformities or major non-conformities according to company guidelines.
Prepare and issue Corrective Action Plans following factory evaluations or supplier audits.
Follow up with factories until corrective actions have been implemented and supporting evidence has been received.
Assist in verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions through document review or follow-up visits.
Help maintain supplier performance evaluations covering quality, delivery, communication, documentation, compliance and corrective-action performance.
Prepare summaries and recommendations for management review.
Maintain confidentiality regarding Green Channels’ customers, suppliers, prices, products, orders and commercial information.
Required Working Approach
Prepare accurate, structured and professional documents and reports.
Communicate effectively with Green Channels employees, suppliers and factory representatives.
Follow all assigned actions and deadlines systematically.
Maintain complete and organised electronic and hard-copy records where required.
Report significant non-conformities, delays or risks promptly to the Managing Director.
Demonstrate integrity, impartiality and professional behaviour during audits and factory visits.
Be willing to learn ISO 9001 requirements, auditing principles and Green Channels’ operating procedures.
Travel regularly to garment factories in and around Dhaka when required.
During the initial training period, the candidate will participate in audits under supervision. Audit responsibilities will gradually increase according to demonstrated competence, accuracy and professional judgement.
The Graduate Management Trainee will not independently approve or reject a supplier. Final audit conclusions, supplier approval decisions and closure of major corrective actions will remain subject to management review.
