Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in civil/mechanical engineering along with profession degree in SCM / Business Administration.
At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain/Procurement.
Minimum 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within Manufacturing, Heavy Industry, or Group of Companies.
Strong exposure to local procurement; ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is required.
To lead and oversee local procurement operations, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and quality sourcing of goods and services. The role is responsible for driving vendor strategy, developing procurement processes, achieving cost savings, ensuring compliance, and guiding the procurement team to support overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Procurement & Planning
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company SCM policy and goals.
Forecast procurement needs in collaboration with business units and plan sourcing accordingly.
Drive initiatives to optimize cost, improve vendor performance, and mitigate supply risks.
2. Leadership & Team Management
Supervise and guide the procurement team in executing day-to-day purchasing activities.
Provide coaching, training, and performance management for team members.
Allocate work, monitor progress, and ensure departmental KPIs are met.
3. Vendor Strategy & Relationship Management
Build and maintain a robust supplier base for critical materials and services.
Negotiate contracts, establish long-term vendor partnerships, and ensure favorable terms.
Conduct vendor performance reviews, audits, and develop improvement plans.
4. Cost & Contract Management
Lead negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Approve purchase orders and contracts within delegated authority.
Track procurement costs against budgets and ensure savings targets are achieved.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure strict adherence to company procurement policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation for audit readiness.
Identify risks in procurement processes and implement mitigation measures.
6. Process Improvement & ERP Utilization
Drive automation and efficiency through ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Continuously improve procurement processes to reduce lead time and improve transparency.
Develop dashboards and reports for management review.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Accounts, Operations, and Warehousing teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Support project teams in sourcing specialized materials and services.
Act as the point of escalation for procurement-related issues.
