Job Context:
∎ Coats Bangladesh Ltd., a subsidiary of Coats plc, UK., is looking for energetic & competent candidate for the post of Manager, Health & Safety (Rajendrapur Plant) to join our team.
∎ Role Purpose: The purpose of the job is to develop policies, systems and procedures to establish a Health & Safety Culture by training and mentoring the Health and Safety practitioners, business leaders and managers in order to implement the Global Health & Safety Policy. Also this position is required to lead independent audits and serious incident investigations.

∎ External - Cluster Communication, Government Regulatory

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Strategic:
∎ Develop, implement policies, best practices and Global H&S systems to ensure a safe and healthy working environment across all business operations.
∎ Develop training modules to interpret and comply with local regulations, company policies, and the global H&S strategy.
∎ Recommend H&S objectives and targets in line with country requirements, corporate objectives and the global safety strategy.
∎ Design audit program and the implementation of improvement actions.
∎ Be a lead expert in a specialized area of H&S management for the global organization.
∎ Operational - Health & Safety:
∎ Analyse and interpret appropriate data to risk profile and ensure effective corrective/counter actions are taken
∎ Audit sites using the Global H&S Audit template and provide guidance and support to improve performance and monitor progress regular against their safety improvement plan.
∎ Ensure hazards, near misses, serious incidents and injuries are reported, thoroughly investigated, systemic causes are identified with appropriate and effective corrective actions.
∎ People Development:
∎ Develop and deliver training and coaching to embed a safe and healthy working environment across all business operations.
∎ Partner with the line management to develop safety improvement plans and mentor those involved in implementation.
∎ Train site safety auditors, calibrating and moderating self-audits and action plans
Additional Requirements:
∎ More than 5 years of EHS management (developing and deploying Health and Safety best practice, risk assessment and auditing) in a manufacturing environment.
∎ 6 to 9 years of inline experience.
∎ Strong understanding of ISO14001 & ISO18001 and Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing Systems.
∎ People agility and experience in handling regulatory authorities and capable of interpreting legislation.
∎ Proficient in English and other necessary language skills depending upon the regional requirements.
