Education:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in any discipline preferable in social sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Agriculture, or related field;

  • Age At most 45 years
  • Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in livelihood development, graduation approaches, or disability-inclusive programming

  • Experience in working with OPDs, SHGs, or community-based organizations is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of VSLA, market systems, and rural livelihoods in Bangladesh

  • Good communication and report-writing skills in Bangla and English

  • Understanding of disability inclusion, gender equality, and rights-based approaches

  • Ability to work independently and lead, coordinate, and manage field teams in remote and disaster-prone contexts

  • Commitment to OPD leadership and inclusive development

  • Effective communication, conflict management and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent team management skills.



Responsibilities & Context:

*** Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate inclusive livelihood activities, including income-generating activities (IGAs), skills development, and market linkage initiatives

  • Support graduation pathways combining VSLA participation, asset/grant utilization, and income diversification

  • Ensure gender-responsive and disability-inclusive livelihood planning for persons with disabilities

  • Coordinate project activities with OPD leaders, SHGs, VSLA groups, and community stakeholders

  • Maintain close collaboration with local government institutions, line departments, and service providers

  • Support OPD-led mentoring, follow-up visits, and household-level monitoring

  • Track progress against graduation indicators and livelihood outcomes

  • Maintain accurate field records, beneficiary profiles, and case studies

  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in line with CDD and CBM Global reporting formats

  • Support training sessions on livelihoods, VSLA management, entrepreneurship, and resilience

  • Provide on-the-job coaching to SHG and OPD members on record-keeping and business practices

Safeguarding, Accountability & Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safeguarding, protection, and ICFRM mechanisms are understood and applied at field level

  • Uphold do-no-harm principles, informed consent, and ethical engagement with participants

  • Support audits, evaluations, and donor monitoring visits as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by the supervisor/line authority.

  • The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a non-profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.

  • CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD’s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.

  • The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its former Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues.

  • CDD is accepting application for the position of ‘Livelihood Officer’ under a project named ‘Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Inclusive Graduation and Resilience (EPDIGR)’ to be implemented with the supported by the CBM Global Disability Inclusion. The duration of the project is till 31st December 2028. The selected candidate will initially be hired for a three-month probationary period. Upon successful completion of this period, his/her employment contract will be renewed on an annual basis.
