  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to identify profit opportunities, a strong understanding of the garment business, and a commercial mindset. 
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, foster relationships, and coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders. 


Responsibilities & Context:
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute merchandising strategies, product line plans, and commercial goals to achieve profitability and align with brand objectives. 

  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and develop the merchandising team, providing clear business goals and fostering collaboration across departments. 

  • Buyer & Supplier Management: Cultivate strong relationships with buyers and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring effective communication to facilitate the entire order process. 

  • Product Development & Sourcing: Oversee the sourcing of fabrics, trims, and accessories, coordinate sampling and development, and ensure final product approvals align with buyer requirements. 

  • Costing & Budget Management: Manage the costing process, negotiate prices with suppliers, and control budgets to ensure product lines are profitable and within financial targets. 

  • Production & Delivery: Monitor the production schedule, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality products by managing internal production and logistics. 

  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer demand to inform product line development and merchandising strategies. 

  • Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality control department to ensure products meet the required quality standards and manage the inspection process.
