Educational Requirements:
∎ Graduation/ Post Graduation in Forestry/ Environment/ Agriculture or any other relevant subject from any recognized university.

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 4 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Environment, Forestry

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure reforestation following guidelines of plantation techniques in the selected areas.
∎ Ensure maintenance of existing plantation/vegetation efforts so that project meets its ultimate goals.
∎ Provide technical advice and guidance to the Forestry Assistant for proper maintenance and care of the existing plantation/vegetation effort.
∎ Ensure project related financial transactions to the programme participants are done properly with transparency and related data are kept up to date.
∎ Ensure collection of plantation data and prepare project reports.
∎ Support the implementation daily operational aspects of all issues related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable management of natural resources and possibly other working areas under the thematic area forests & biodiversity; such as management, financing, capacity building of protected areas; inland and marine protected areas; landscape approach including the nexus of biodiversity and climate change (nature-based solutions).
∎ In collaboration with responsible project officer(s), support in carrying out activities related to organization of trainings, workshops and project communication activities.
∎ Support the responsible project officer(s) in collecting information for technical studies, research and any technical briefs under the project framework.
∎ Under the guidance of the responsible project officer(s), responsible for activity and impact monitoring.
∎ Organize, manage and ensure smooth interpretation/translation of the project activities, including outsourcing, translating/interpreting and ensuring quality control.
∎ Contributes to knowledge management for the working area, incl. analysing, summarising and presenting information on protected and conserved areas.
∎ Capitalizes on potentials to make positive contributions to gender equality in working area in close coordination with gender focal point.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the team lead.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ KNOWLEDGE: BRAC’s values and mission, development sector, global development scenario to identify funding trends, financial and grants management, donor agencies, Basic computer knowledge on MS office applications, conservation and sustainable management of forests in Bangladesh including change processes related to protected areas including forests, wetlands and other ecosystems: management, financing, capacity building; managing information systems and monitoring including the Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool (SMART); eco-tourism, ecosystem services; governance of protected areas and buffer zone development, landscape approach including the nexus of biodiversity and climate change (nature-based solutions), creating synergies with a broad range of stakeholders in the working area to advance objectives
∎ SKILLS: Budgeting, communication, writing, monitoring, and evaluating, auditing, project management, project implementation
∎ COMPETENCIES: Facilitating group meetings, managing timelines, oral and written fluency in both Bangla and English, handling critical issues with relevant stakeholders
