• Basic written English skills preferred

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose of NCDs Screener (Nurse):

The NCD Screener will be responsible for conducting screening, early identification, documentation, and follow-up support for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at the Health Post in Project for promotion of primary and secondary prevention of non-communicable diseases and strengthening its follow-up system in Forcibility Displaced Myanmar Nationals in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The position will work under the technical supervision of the Medical Officer and in close coordination with the Lab Technologist to ensure accurate screening, appropriate diagnostic testing, and quality NCD service delivery.

Job Responsibilities

NCD Screening and Vital Signs Assessment

  • Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) for all OPD patients.
  • BMI measurement for OPD patients aged 40+ and younger patients identified as high-risk, as instructed by the Medical Officer.
  • Identify and document associated signs, symptoms, or complications of NCDs such as leg edema, leg ulcer, paralysis, disability, or other chronic conditions.
  • Diagnostic Screening and Laboratory Coordination
  • Perform NCD screening tests, particularly blood glucose testing, as per Medical Officer’s order.
  • Coordinate with the Medical Officer and Lab Technologist for patients requiring laboratory investigations.
  • Explain screening and laboratory procedures to patients and their family members in a clear and culturally appropriate manner and obtain informed consent.
  • Review screening and laboratory results in consultation with the Medical Officer to support appropriate treatment and follow-up planning.
  • Patient Records, Referral, and Follow-up
  • Accurately record screening results in individual patient NCD cards and relevant registers.
  • Organize, manage, and maintain NCD patient records systematically.
  • Arrange referral for patients requiring higher-level care with coordination of referral facilitator as instructed by the Medical Officer and in line with referral guidelines.
  • Assist referral coordinator to refer beneficiaries to the facilities and prepare and maintain required referral documentation.
  • Support follow-up of NCD patients in collaboration with the Medical Officer, Referral Coordinator, and Health Educators.
  • Equipment, Supplies, and Stock Monitoring
  • Conduct regular check-up and basic maintenance of screening equipment such as BP machines, glucometers, thermometers, and weight scales using monitoring checklists.
  • Coordinate with logistics staff for procurement and replenishment of screening materials and consumables.
  • Submit early requisition for medical materials at least one week prior to anticipated stock-out.
  • Reporting, Training, and Teamwork
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly screening and activity reports in a timely manner.
  • Participate in regular on-the-job training and technical supervision sessions conducted by the Medical Officer.
  • Attend monthly team meetings for information sharing, problem-solving, and service improvement.
  • Coordination and Compliance
  • Participate in organizational trainings, meetings, and activities as per the approved capacity-building plan.
  • Comply with organizational policies including HR policy, PSEA, Code of Conduct, and workplace safety policies.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the authority relevant to achieving project objectives.

    • Gross Salary: BDT 35,000 per month
