Project Brief:
To enhance Early Childhood Development (ECD) and reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in underserved and substandard urban settlements of Narayanganj and Gazipur Districts of Dhaka Division in Bangladesh, the project aims to create a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 6 through Resource Centre’s (RCs) that will provide daycare services, pre-primary education, and legal aid support for their families. Over the five-year project period, the consistent delivery of ECD services will support the long-term cognitive, emotional, and physical development of children, helping them build a stronger foundation for the future. Sustained legal aid services, community awareness campaigns, and proactive engagement with community members are expected to contribute to reducing GBV, creating a safer, more enabling environment for both the targeted children and the wider community.
About the Role:
The person will be responsible for training Resource Centre (RC) staff and community members on Early Childhood Development (ECD) for children aged 3 to 6 and for facilitating training on reducing Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The role focuses on enhancing pedagogical skills for pre-primary education and fostering a safe, nurturing environment in underserved urban settlements.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate training for RC staff on daycare services and pre-primary education for children aged 3 to 6.
Train teachers and caregivers on age-appropriate teaching-learning methodologies to support cognitive and emotional development.
Facilitate community awareness campaigns and training sessions focused on reducing Gender-Based Violence and promoting legal aid support.
Assess training needs and develop modules specifically for early childhood care and community-based GBV prevention
Put collaborative effort into organizing Resource Centre activities to ensure a safe and enabling environment for children.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
