The Technical Officer – Energy is responsible for supporting the implementation, supervision, and technical execution of energy interventions, including solar photovoltaic systems, electrical installations, and related infrastructure. The role ensures that energy activities are delivered in line with approved designs, workplans, and technical standards under the guidance of the Senior Technical Officer – Energy.
• Support the installation, supervision, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, street solar lighting, and other energy-related infrastructure in line with approved technical designs and specifications.
• Assist in preparation and review of technical drawings, single-line diagrams, connection diagrams, and basic cost estimates for solar and electrical systems.
• Conduct site assessments and visual inspections of PV systems to verify suitability, performance, and compliance with approved standards.
• Support implementation of energy-related construction, refurbishment, and repair works in accordance with approved workplans and schedules.
• Identify and report technical issues, system faults, and performance gaps, and support troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Assist in beneficiary verification, intervention area validation, and stakeholder coordination to ensure appropriate targeting and service delivery.
• Supervise volunteers or field workers involved in energy system installation and maintenance to ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Contribute to preparation of Periodical and technical progress updates and implementation reports.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, safeguarding policies, environmental considerations, and organizational code of conduct during all energy interventions.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor in response to operational needs.
• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
