• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to engage effectively with adolescents, parents, and community stakeholders.

• Experience in organizing community events and workshops.

• Strong documentation and report writing skills in English.

• Experience working in coastal areas (Satkhira/Khulna) will be considered an advantage.

• Uttaran invites applications for the vacant position titled- Youth Leadership Development Officer for the Seeds of Resilience: Turning Climate Adversity into Enterprise and Empowerment Project.

Job Responsibilities

The Youth Leadership Development Officer will motivated and committed candidate for the position of Youth Leadership Development Officer.This initiative aims to empower adolescents and youth in coastal Bangladesh to strengthen their leadership capacity, promote climate awareness, and implement community-based Social Action Projects (SAPs) that contribute to ecological transition and resilience building.

Duties and responsibilities:

 Support the development of locally contextualized training modules on climate resilience, entrepreneurship, employability, and gender equality.

 Organize and facilitate three-day participatory training sessions for 300 adolescents (50% girls).

 Ensure inclusive and meaningful participation of adolescents, especially girls and marginalized youth.

 Facilitate adolescents to identify community problems and design 20 Social Action Projects (SAPs).

 Provide coaching and mentoring support to adolescent groups during SAP implementation.

Monitor progress of SAPs and ensure proper utilization of seed funding.

 Promote youth engagement in community forums and structured dialogues with local government representatives.

 Strengthen youth leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

 Promote gender equality and awareness of rights among adolescents.

 Ensure child safeguarding and protection standards are maintained in all activities.

 Collaborate with schools, parents, community leaders, and other stakeholders for smooth implementation.

 Document youth leadership stories, case studies, and Most Significant Change (MSC) stories.

 Assist in organizing open days, community events, and reflection workshops.]

 Engage and participate in other activities as deemed necessary for project implementation and assigned by supervisors.
