Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Psychology, Mental Health, Psychosocial Support, or a related field;
Specialized training in psychosocial support, counseling psychology, Psychological First Aid (PFA), child protection, or other specialized MHPSS interventions will be considered a strong advantage.
Job Location is CDD Head Office, Savar, Dhaka, with frequent field visits (approximately 40% of working time) to the project area;
3–5 years of relevant experience in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programming, preferably with a focus on children and youths with disabilities.
Experience in developing and applying MHPSS assessment, screening, and monitoring tools.
Proven experience in training design and facilitation, including development of training materials and on-the-job capacity building for staff and community volunteers.
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with partners, stakeholders, and programme participants.
Strong analytical and planning skills.
Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office (Bangla and English).
Good oral and written communication skills in Bangla; working knowledge of English will be an advantage.
Sound understanding of gender, age, disability, and inclusion (GADI) issues in the Bangladesh context.
Experience working in remote and community-based settings.
Experience in data collection, documentation, and indicator tracking within development or humanitarian programmes.
Prior experience working with national or international NGOs will be preferred.
Strong communication skills, particularly when engaging with communities and children and youths with disabilities.
Demonstrated ability to promote the best interests of children and youths with disabilities.
Experience in supporting and empowering caregivers.
Knowledge of child protection concerns and understanding of when case management responses are required.
Familiarity with Gender-Based Violence (GBV) principles; experience in GBV case management and survivor-centred approaches will be an added advantage.
Understanding of safeguarding principles, including Do No Harm.
*** Job Responsibilities:
Direct Service Provision: Conducting individual and group MHPSS sessions (including Psychosocial First Aid) to children & youth with disabilities and Caregivers during field visits.
Data Management: Maintaining confidential and accurate records of individual and group sessions, including filling intake forms and updating mental health tools.
Progress Reporting: Preparing monthly analytical reports, including success stories and lessons learned, to track progress against project indicators
Needs Assessment: Conducting regular assessments to identify gaps in services and changing psychosocial needs within the target population (children & youth with disabilities and caregivers)
Training Staff/Volunteers: Training and mentoring CDD’s and Partner Organizations’ staff members on relevant topics on MHPSS. Mentor PO’s staff members, including community volunteers/interns, youths with disabilities, and caregivers on MHPSS topics, such as basic counseling, stress management, and referral procedures. Conducting on-site observations of sessions to provide feedback and technical support to front line staff (Community Interns, CBR Facilitator and CBR Officers)
Referral Pathway Management: Identifying severe cases and ensuring timely, safe, and confidential referrals to specialized mental health or protection services for children & youth with disabilities and caregivers. Regularly monitor and update active referral pathways across sectors for timely response to needs.
Stakeholder Liaison: Representing the organization in MHPSS working groups, coordination meetings, and building relationships with local and national partners
Policy Adherence: Ensuring all MHPSS activities comply with organizational Child Safeguarding and Protection against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policies.
Budget Management: Monitoring MHPSS related activity expenditures to ensure they remain within budget limits, as necessary.
Documentation: Document best practice, case studies and leanings for reporting and evaluation purposes
IEC Materials Development: support in developing MHPSS Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials for stigma and stress reduction and the promotion of help-seeking
Tele therapy Sessions: Provide online support services to children, youths and caregivers from the LF supported project locations through CDD’s Teletherapy Unit.
Counseling Sessions: Provide Counseling sessions, if required, in CDD’s Rehabilitation Unit.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
Adhere to CDD's Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of all project participants.
Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project.
Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by project and CDD management.

CDD is accepting application for the position of ‘MHPSS Officer’ under a project title ‘Meaningful Participation and Inclusion of Children and Youths with Disabilities in All Domains of CBR (MaPInCBR)’ to be implemented with the support of Liliane Fonds. The duration of the project is till 31st December 2029. The selected candidate will initially be hired for a three-month probationary period. Upon successful completion of this period, his/her employment contract will be renewed on an annual basis.
