Responsibilities & Context:

Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the position of ‘‘Private Sector Engagement Officer’’ from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing ‘‘The Blue Economy and Inclusive Development for Climate Justice (BID4CJ) project funded by OXFAM in Shatkhira and Cox`s Bazar.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Select potential BNF for Green Business promotion, outlet operation for sales promotion purpose.

  • Assess the existing capacity and prepare the capacity development plan and arrange necessary training and workshop.

  • Prepare monthly income and expenditure report and support to develop their business development plan and execute.

  • Identify and select the potential market opportunities for BNF and linkage with them.

  • Develop Market Linkage and private sector engagement plan in consultation with PM and business enterprise.

  • Create new online page and connect existing online market platform & pages for product & sales promotion for increase the income.

  • Progress reporting for projects using information from various sources.

  • Develop Green Business development plan in consultation with PM and the community.

  • Increase monthly income (100% income will be increased by the end of the year) of Green Business Entrepreneur by engaging online market platform, Green Market Fair and Market linkage with private sectors.

  • Regular follow-up the Green Business Enterprises and support the others activities like; Ecosystem restoration, rainwater harvesting, Mangrove Plantation, Agri-Ecosystem, Institutional Plantation, Sand Dune and so many interventions assigned by PM. 

  • Oversight of financial management and compliance of the project.

  • Promoting women and youth leadership for climate justice and natural resource rights.

  • Engaging community in ecosystem management, restoration and other relevant project activities.

  • Ensuring safe and inclusive project management

  • Periodic review of risks and ensuring risk management actions.

  • Prepare periodic, annual and other relevant reports.

  • Communicate to stakeholders at the local level from a justice and equity approach for ensuring implementation of the project activities.

  • Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse - PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation.

  • Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
