Education:

• Essential : University degree in psychology / counselling / nursing (with valid BNMC registration) / health promotion, diploma in medical assistant with BMDC registration or any other relevant education.

Experience:

• Essential: At least 2 years of relevant professional experience with MSF or other humanitarian organizations, preferably in Rohingya response or similar humanitarian response.

• Desirable: Demonstrable experience in supervising and training others in a team setting

Language:

• Essential : English, Bangla

• Desirable: Chittagonian Dialect.

Knowledge:

• Essential computer literacy (MS word, excel, power point)

Accountabilities:

• Assisting the HP Manager in assessing patient support needs, defining the patient support strategy according to the changing medical needs and context, and developing patient support tools (counselling/education protocols, health promotion messages, etc.)

• Ensuring, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of patient support activities according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures

• Ensuring good communication and collaboration with the other components of the project and other partners working on patient support

• Supervising and supporting the staff under his responsibility, planning and organizing their work

• In close collaboration with the HR department, supervising the associated HR processes (recruitment, training, induction, evaluation, potential detection, coaching, development and internal communication) in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required

• Ensuring data collection and analysis of patient support activities (collecting reports of patient support staff, summarizing reports, etc.)

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:

• This position is to improve the functionality and outcomes of PSEC package of care in OPDs, IPD and Decentralisation of NCD or NCD DSD services. Below are proposed context accountabilities.

• Offer technical support / capacity building and Supervision to Nurse health educators and Lay Counselors

• Improve collaboration and linkages between health educators and Counselors with other project component activities of MH, HP, Clinical, SRH, Safeguarding, Social worker, Hep C etc.

• Ensure implementation of quality patient support and therapeutic education, Monitor and evaluate impact of all patient support activities in close collaboration with project teams.

•

• - Provide support to ensure smooth continuity and monitoring progress of Peer support activities and discuss improvements with PMR, relevant Managers and staff.

• Develop any other necessary context appropriate educational tools, IECs with support within the project. - Quality monthly data collection and reporting of all patient support / therapeutic education and peer support activities.

• Support community NCD decentralization service uptake or DSD services (such as palliative care and demobile patient community refills etc ) and capacity building of MDT team on therapeutic education.

• Discuss and suppport NCD cohort retention strategies with HP,MHPSS and NCD team to reduce burden of missed appointments and patient lost to follow up cases

• -Participate and contribute to NCD patient case discusions for holistic strategies in patient management.

• Perform any other essential role as may be asigned by the line Manager based on project activity evolutions and startegies

• Permanent contract

• Salary according to MSF salary grid (Level 7) BDT 95000 Salary ( not negotiable). Income tax deduction from salary will be applicable based on the current income tax rule.
