Experience:

• At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience working with NGO/INGO in a similar position.

• Should be fluent in both oral and written Bengali & English. Fluency in Chittagonian/local language is adorable.

• Grassroots working experience in the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction sector and development sectors.

• Good people skills and leadership qualities.

• Being a strong team player.

• Necessary Report writing skill.

• Have a valid motorcycle driving license.

• Willingness to stay and operate the project in a remote area.

Job Summary: The Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) is a leading non-government organization dedicated to fostering a just and caring society since 1973. CCDB is currently seeking a Technical Officer for its project, “Empowering Refugees Through Resilience and Recovery”.

This position is to support the Project Manager in the implementation of project interventions according to the respective project log frame budget and time frame. Provide services to the host community to have access to protection, introduce integrated farming considering the Climate Change issue as well as capacity building and livelihood support for the host community, especially women, children and adolescents, and enable them to live with basic human dignity. Generic responsibilities in this position include: ensuring adherence to CCDB policies,

tools, handbooks, and donor requirements; ensuring that project target beneficiaries are the most in

need; and exploring and assessing new and better ways to assist, promoting and sharing ideas for

technical improvement.

 Project Introduction: The ACT Bangladesh Forum will implement a coordinated, multi-sectoral humanitarian response in line with the ACT Alliance Results Framework and humanitarian standards, including CHS and Sphere. The project aims to support crisis-affected Rohingya (FDMNs) and host communities in moving from aid toward resilience, dignity, and self-reliance.

With years of experience in Cox’s Bazar and other disaster-affected areas, CCDB brings strong expertise in climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction (DRR), community-based WASH, environmental livelihoods, and peacebuilding. CCDB will use its local presence and partnerships, including faith-based and interfaith networks, to strengthen resilient and climate-focused humanitarian programming.

 Job Responsibility:

• Select potential Households from the host community for livelihood support.

• Prepare a training manual about DRR, CC, and gender, and conduct training for selected households.

• Have a clear understanding of local seedlings, including homestead gardening.

• Conduct frequent supervision and monitoring visits to the host community and identify any issues needing attention related to implementation, donor compliance, and program quality standards. 

• Monitor all project activities, expenditures, and progress towards achieving the project output in consultation with PM.

• Provide effective coordination with Government, all clusters, ISCG, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Follow the organization’s various policies on different issues in line with donor compliance.

• Ensure procurement of necessary material items, maintain all guidelines of CCDB in coordination and guidance from the Head of General Admin, CCDB Office, donor, and managing all project staff; ensure an effective local procurement committee and coordinate them so that they perform their duties with accountability and transparency as per procurement policy.

• To augment the awareness of the community regarding disaster management and preparedness and take initiative to prepare effective IEC materials.

• Prepare reports according to the interventions.

• Take necessary steps to implement the assigned activities according to the log frame and align with other interventions.

• Perform any other assignments given by PM or CCDB Senior Management as and when required.
