Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience.
Experience in leading field teams and managing participatory data systems.
Strong technical skills in GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS) and digital data collection tools (KoboToolbox, ODK, CommCare, etc.).
Proven ability to produce visual documentation (photo/video editing, storytelling, community interviews).
Experience in climate resilience, water governance, or natural resource management preferred.
Competencies

Uttaran invites applications for the vacant position titled- Monitoring Officer for the Locally Led Actions Sustainable Water and Land Management (LANDWATER) Project.
Reports to: Project Coodinator/Hub Manager
Employment Status: Full-time, project-based
Duration: One year, renewable upon satisfactory performance and funding.
Job Location: Tala, Satkhira
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring, Data Collection & Analysis
Lead the implementation of the project’s participatory monitoring framework across all landscapes.
Design, update, and apply monitoring checklists and community indicator tools aligned with LLA principles.
Ensure proper maintenance and updating of baseline data, integrating environmental, social, and gender indicators.
Use GIS, Kobo, ODK, or similar digital tools for spatial and quantitative data collection.
Generate analytical summaries, infographics, and maps to visualize progress and trends.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality at all stages of collection and reporting.
Field Leadership and Supervision
Lead and supervise field facilitators and community volunteers to ensure high-quality implementation and documentation.
Provide hands-on mentoring on data collection, participatory tools, and reporting.
Review field monitoring reports and provide feedback to improve performance.
Coordinate weekly and monthly meetings with field teams to plan, reflect, and align actions.
Support team members to troubleshoot field challenges and ensure consistency in monitoring methods.
Documentation, Learning, and Communication
Capture photo and video documentaries highlighting community processes, success stories, and lessons learned.
Support storytelling and documentation of “Change Journeys” through participatory video and interviews.
Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual monitoring reports with analysis and visual evidence.
Develop case studies, reflection notes, and learning briefs for donor communication.
Maintain a digital repository of all monitoring data, reports, and visual materials.
Coordination and Networking
Serve as the key coordination point between field teams, project management, and technical partners.
Liaise regularly with the Project Coordinator, and focal points for data validation and planning.
Collaborate with local government institutions (Union Parishads, Upazila offices) to share data and promote accountability.
Support joint monitoring visits by RVO, or other partners.
Participate in regional and national learning events on Locally Led Adaptation and community-based monitoring.
Capacity Building and Support
Facilitate training for community volunteers and landscape institutions (CICs/LMSCs) on participatory monitoring tools.
Build capacity on community data visualization (maps, scoreboards, progress charts).
Provide technical inputs for Capture Change Circles and Community Reflection Meetings.
Support peer learning across landscapes through exposure visits and exchange workshops.
Other Responsiilities
Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator to ensure effective project implementation.
