Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, Nursing, Paramedics, or a related discipline from a recognized institution with a valid certificate.
Candidates with prior experience in field-based health research or clinical studies will be given preference
Experience working in community or facility-based data collection is an advantage
Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of electronic devices (tablet/mobile phone)
Familiarity with electronic data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, REDCap, Google Forms) is desirable
Understanding of research ethics and informed consent procedures
Strong communication skills in Bangla; knowledge of local dialects spoken in the study area is an advantage
Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
Willingness to work beyond office hours, including weekends and public holidays, if required by the study
Willingness to travel within the assigned study areas

PRF’s research has contributed to improvement of health of Bangladeshi citizens and has supported the career development of numerous Bangladeshi public health professionals. Projahnmo Research Foundation is seeking qualified and motivated applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Research Assistant for “The BLAAAST Trial: Bangladesh Lung Auscultation AI for Antibiotic Stewardship Randomized Controlled Trial’’. The study will be implemented in Sylhet district.
Duty Station: Zakiganj, Sylhet

Initial appointments may be extended for a further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
Job Description/ Responsibility:
Major Responsibilities
The Research Assistant will support day-to-day research activities of the BLAAAST Trial under the supervision of the Study Physician and Study Manager. Key responsibilities include:
Identify the homes of enrolled study participants and conduct scheduled follow-up visits as per study protocol.
Perform clinical assessments of enrolled children in accordance with the study protocol and IMCI guidelines.
Communicate clinical findings with the study physician for confirmation.
Support parents and caregivers in the preparation and dispensing of trial medications, following protocol and safety procedures.
Assess adherence to treatment by measuring remaining trial drugs and reviewing relevant prescriptions and treatment records.
Identify danger signs and promptly refer or accompany sick children to the designated study hospital for further evaluation and management.
Visit assigned health facilities and community catchment areas as per the study protocol and field plan
Complete accurate and timely data entry using electronic data collection tools (tablet/mobile-based applications)
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and validity of collected data and promptly respond to data queries
Maintain and update study registers, logs, and tracking forms as required
Conduct follow-up visits for enrolled participants, including weekend or holiday follow-up when required by the protocol
Build and maintain good working relationships with health facility staff, community members, and local stakeholders to facilitate smooth study implementation
Ensure proper use, safety, and maintenance of study equipment and logistics (tablets, forms, registers, chargers, etc.)
Participate in training sessions, meetings, refresher trainings, and supervision visits organized by the project
Support internal and external monitoring, supervision, and audit visits as required
Perform any other study-related tasks assigned by the Supervisor within the scope of the position
