Community Development Centre CODEC is an inheritor of DANIDA Bangladesh derived from couple of project intervention explicitly DANIDA Boat Building Project and Boat Rental Scheme. CODEC has been working as a people centered development organization since 1985. CODEC has been growing and evolving into efficient and effective non-governmental development organization in the coastal area of Bangladesh. From the beginning of its development intervention.CODEC started its activities only with the fisherfolk communities but over the period CODEC now extended its working area with other disadvantaged coastal communities along with the fisherfolk community.
CODEC is currently seeking qualified candidates from potential Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Field Facilitator for its project titled: Environmental Human Rights for a Just Transition: Strengthened Local CSOs Transforming Climate Hotspots into Resilient Communities (ENGAGE) project. The project will be implemented in Morrelgonj and Saronkhola Upazila under Bagerhat District and Mothbaria Upazila and Indurkani Upazila under Pirojpur District.
The project is being implemented in collaboration with other NGOs in 6 districts having NETZ Bangladesh as the lead organization. European Union (EU) is financially supporting the project. The Position will be available from 1 April 2025 to 31 December 2028.
The project is implemented through an integrated approach building synergies across the program elements with the objectives of achieving the following results through interrelated components:
Enhanced Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) independently contribute to sustainable development, human rights, democracy and good governance in Bangladesh.
Active local CSOs led by women, youth and indigenous peoples sustainably protect and promote the right to a healthy, clean, and safe environment of the people most vulnerable to climate change and environmental degradation and advance a low-carbon and climate-resilient society.
Responsibilities:
Assist the project management to organize all field activities.·
Ensure the participation of community and relevant stakeholders in all activities.·
Prepare individual monthly implementation plan deriving from the project’s detailed implementation plan (DIP).·
Mobilizing and engaging community members with a particular focus on marginalized groups such as women, youth, indigenous peoples and person with disabilities.·
Responsible to supervise and coordinate the project activity in the upazilas.·
Facilitate regular community level meetings with local CSOs, student forums and other stakeholders,·
Identifying vulnerable groups, and ensuring their active participation in project activities.·
Attend monthly training and be able to accurately replicate training received, sharing correct information and demonstrating skills learned.·
Lead community awareness campaigns on topics such as climate change, human rights, gender equality and environmental protection.
Work Supervision:
The Facilitator will work under the technical supervision of the Project Coordinator for each assigned task and assignment and the overall guidance of NETZ Bangladesh.With respect to administrative supervision responsible to the employer or his designated authority.
Knowledge Management:
a. S/he will be responsible for maintaining a Work Journal, where s/he will document learnings, mistakes, challenges, experiences, accumulated knowledge, etc either in English/Bengali and share with line manager/CODEC management when required.
S/he will be responsible to coordinate with all teams/departments of project/program to document and share all knowledge that can be relevant and beneficial for the organization.
S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy.
