The Assistant Technical Specialist- Business Development role supports the Production Center by strengthening business planning, market access, and sales strategies. The position focuses on increasing production center revenue, expanding market linkages locally, nationally, and globally, and ensuring sustainable economic opportunities for Rohingya community members on Bhasan Char.
Business Planning & Production Management
Prepare and update business plans, sales forecasts, and production schedules.
Align production with confirmed orders and market demand.
Conduct cost analysis, pricing, profitability, and break-even assessments.
Support inventory management and reduce unsold or rejected products.
Increase Sales & Revenue
Increase sales volume and revenue of Production Center products.
Ensure products meet buyer and market requirements for quality, design, packaging, and pricing.
Develop and implement sales and promotion plans aligned with production capacity.
Promote branding, product positioning, and visibility of Production Center products.
Expand Market Access (Local, National & Global)
Identify and access viable local, national, and global markets.
Conduct market assessments to understand trends, demand, and competition.
Support participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, buyer meetings, and online marketplaces.
Explore institutional, wholesale, and bulk sales opportunities.
Strengthen Buyer Engagement, Value Chain Linkages & Sustainability
Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with buyers, suppliers, and distributors.
Facilitate contracts, delivery schedules, and payment terms with buyers.
Strengthen backward and forward linkages, including raw materials, logistics, and distribution.
Promote long-term buyer relationships and ethical, sustainable business practices.
Generate business intelligence, sales reports, and market insights for management decision-making.
Support monitoring, evaluation, learning, and continuous improvement of production and sales operations.
Safeguarding:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
