Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the field of child protection/ protection/ SGBV/ social work/ case management
  • Basic IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Internet, excel)
  • Knowledge of child protection systems in Bangladesh/ Excellent knowledge of child protection issues and best practices (Child Protection and SGBV) / Previous experience in dealing with complex child protection cases is highly desirable.
  • Fluent in Chittagong dialect, with good command of English and Bangla


Responsibilities & Context:

Community engagement and project delivery:

  • Identify high-migration districts and communities with significant numbers of female and youth member of migrant families and aspirant migrants.

  • Conduct community mapping and needs assessments for development of training manuals and operational guidelines for community awareness programs on ethical recruitment and social protection.

  • Deliver community-based pre-migration orientation for potential migrants.

  • Organize psychosocial support sessions to promote emotional well-being, resilience, and social inclusion.

  • Support youth-led initiatives aimed at leadership development, informed and safe migration practices and social integration of migrants into local communities.

 

Capacity development:

  • Select, train, and mentor local youths, returnee migrants and survivors to serve as peer educators and community facilitators.

  • Build capacity of local sub-agents and intermediaries on ethical recruitment and child protection standards.

 

Awareness, communication, and advocacy:

  • Facilitate local-level advocacy initiatives to ensure and rights of migration and influence policy.

  • Engage and orient journalists, bloggers, and media professionals to improve media coverage on migration issues and the rights of transnational families.

  • Prepare and maintain a listing/database of social protection schemes available for migrants and their families.

  • Develop key messages and communication content for IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials including posters, booklets, and infographics to support community awareness campaigns on safe migration, migrant rights, and available services.

  • Coordinate the production of informational videos and support migrant-led campaign video initiatives.

  • Develop ‘Family Albums’ and storytelling materials highlighting the challenges, opportunities, and lived experiences of transnational families through narratives and photography.

 

Stakeholder engagement:

  • Build and maintain networks with policymakers, government officials, social care providers, NGOs, trade unions, employers, and related stakeholders to strengthen gender-responsive and rights-based migration governance.

 

Adherence to policies and standards:

  • Conduct all duties in accordance with the Tdh Global Code of Conduct and Risk Management Policies, including Tdh's Safeguarding Policy.

  • Ensure that humanitarian principles and child protection standards are integrated into project activities to safeguard the well-being and rights of children and vulnerable populations.

 

Provide any other support requested by the line manager to support the project need
