Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

This position will Lead the operation, maintenance, and implementation of biogas and solar energy systems in Bhasan Char, including supervision and capacity building of Biogas Care and Maintenance Volunteers.

• Lead the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of biogas, solar, and other renewable energy systems in Bhasan Char.

• Promote efficient utilization of biogas and LPG, including safe cooking practices and energy-saving measures.

• Conduct regular assessments of solar equipment, streetlights, power plants, and electrical appliances to ensure functionality.

• Develop and maintain updated trackers for energy equipment, including location, condition, maintenance needs, and follow-up actions.

• Coordinate with NAVY, RRRC, government authorities, UNHCR, and other stakeholders for effective planning and implementation of energy activities.

• Conduct community consultations, FGDs, and awareness sessions to promote safe, efficient, and sustainable energy use.

• Supervise, manage, and build the capacity of energy and community volunteers, ensuring availability of necessary tools and equipment.

• Prepare timely reports, document lessons learned and best practices, and contribute to coordination, monitoring, and organizational learning.

• Ensure the safety of programme participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
