Responsibilities & Context:

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of the project activities according to the approved plan and budget

  • Maintain a high degree of financial integrity and accountability, and ensure adherence to Friendship policies and procedures in program spending and budget monitoring

  • Work with the relevant government agencies to ensure alignment with their priorities, as well as to reach out to Friendship Farmers Club(FFC)

  • Manage and supervise the project activities, administrative, Procurement, inventory,  logistics, and human resources of staff members and ensure proper use and maintenance of all kinds of project materials and resources

  • Build alliances and coordinate partnerships with local agro-focused organizations with significant extension networks to help with farmer mobilization

  • Coordinate Farmer’s groups/association formation and their capacity building, need-based assessment, & follow-up for the farmers of crop productions 

  • Prepare training need assessment (TNA),

Duties:

  • Coordinate & facilitate the different training, workshops, and seminars, organize field days, demonstration plots at different levels, networking and linkages with NGOs, line agencies, private sectors, local government, and relevant stakeholders

  • Provide support to the Climate-resilient vegetable cultivation and its marketing through an applied value chain approach

  • Strengthening, promoting & supervising the project activities, providing professional support and leadership to the team, monitoring all activities, and periodically evaluating progress by lessons learned.

  • Solar-based irrigation system management

  • Conduct monthly and quarterly meetings with local Government authorities and respective departments.

  • Ensuring proper documentation and  reporting

  • Team management

  • Any relevant task assigned by management

Skill and Competencies:

  •  B.Sc in Agriculture; a Master’s degree is preferable.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in agro-based development organization and management of agriculture-focused projects

  • Knowledge of agronomic principles and practices, including crops, soils, and nutrients.

  • Work experience at Char and Coastal Islands is preferable.
