• At least 2-years' experience, preferably, pharmacy or clinical services in HP/ primary and emergency healthcare center, tropical infections and diseases.

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose of Drug Dispenser:

The Dispenser/Pharmacist will dispense drugs and medical supplies to patients, providing appropriate counselling on how to safely and effectively take any prescribed treatment on Project for promotion of primary and secondary prevention of non-communicable diseases and strengthening its follow-up system in Forcibility Displaced Myanmar Nationals in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. He/She will ensure safer dispensing with patient counselling and management of rational use of drugs and maintain proper record in daily/weekly tally sheets, consumption tools, different trackers and template, as well as prepare consumption reports, stock checks and stock management in field level according to SOP, Med-Log instructions & GMT guidelines and contribute data and knowledge to produce supply requests in an interval.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Area 1: Duties and Responsibility

• Set up the pharmacy initially, optimizing medicine storage conditions and organization to ensure safety and effectiveness of drugs and medical supplies.

• Implement a drug management system including drug flow, consumption recording and reporting, buffer stocks, security stocks, alert levels, to avoid stock outs & over-stocks.

• Prepare medication, explaining to patients how medications should be taken

• Dispense drugs to patients with valid prescription forms according to SOP of dispensing.

• Maintain FEFO method in pharmacy management.

• Include the proper description on the tablet bag, which will include name of the patient, Name of the drug, Dosage, Duration of treatment, Expiry date, and indicate when to take the drugs.

• Provide an explanation to the patient how to take the treatment.

• Ask the patient to repeat the instructions as patient feedback as a part of counselling.

• Give the first dose of treatment on the spot if prescribed so or if single dose treatment (see specific instructions and protocols)

• Fill in the pharmacy consumption tool & tracker on daily basis.

• Send monthly consumption tools to Med-log focal through Senior Officer/Officer-Pharmacy.

• Keep tally of daily drugs consumption ensuring minimum stock requirement is maintained and drugs are ordered from pharmacy as required

• Assist in the preparation of bi-weekly reports as requested.

• Assist in emergency response to disease outbreaks, as needed.

• Follow all related instructions from Medical Logistics Management.

• Perform any other relevant work appointed by their line manager.

Collaboration:

Work closely with clinical staff & medical logistics team to support the treatment plans and enhance patient outcomes to ensure safety and quality in overall pharmacy services. Participate in health awareness sessions related to medication adherence and safety.

Quality, Ethics, and Compliance

• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow organizational Code of Conduct, PSEA, and workplace safety policies.

• Participate in regular team meetings for information sharing, coordination, and service improvement.

• Attend trainings, capacity-building activities, and organizational programs as assigned.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the authority relevant to Health Post operations.
