Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

The Assistant Technical Specialist-Marketing will oversee all marketing, branding, and promotional activities for the production/handicraft centres. The primary objective of this role is to maximize the visibility and sales of garments, handicrafts, and related products, both offline and online, while ensuring alignment with market trends and customer preferences. The role involves planning and executing marketing activities, sales promotion, market feasibility assessment, digital and physical campaigns, and brand management, with a focus on increasing brand recognition, driving sales, and implementing effective promotional initiatives to strengthen market presence.

Marketing Planning & Execution:

  • Plan, implement, and monitor marketing activities to promote products (garments, handicrafts, and related items) and increase brand visibility.

  • Organize and manage seasonal campaigns, product launches, exhibitions, and promotional events.

  • Prepare annual and quarterly marketing plans aligned with sales and production targets.

  • Identify, analyze, and segment target markets and customer groups, including emerging opportunities.

  • Set pricing approaches in coordination with production and finance teams.

Brand & Product promotion:

  • Enhance brand recognition and positioning in the market to coordinate with sales teams to support sales targets and marketing efforts.

  • Ensure consistent branding across all products, materials, and communication channels.

  • Design and execute promotional activities including discounts, offers, and seasonal initiatives to increase product sales.

  • Develop marketing materials such as product catalogs, brochures, banners, and digital content to showcase products for physical and online promotion.

  • Maintain high-quality product presentation in all marketing efforts and actively engage with key clients, wholesalers, and distributors to increase product reach.

  • Organize exhibitions, fairs, and trade shows to promote products locally, nationally, and internationally.

Market feasibility assessment  & Customer Insight:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, demand patterns, and competitor activities.

  • Analyze pricing, seasonal trends, and market opportunities to guide marketing, product development, and production decisions.

  • Provide actionable recommendations for product development or improvement based on market analysis.

  • Monitor customer feedback and market response to marketing campaigns to inform strategy adjustments.

Digital & Offline Marketing:

  • Plan, manage, and execute digital marketing campaigns, including social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), website, e-commerce platforms, and email marketing.

  • Develop and maintain digital catalogs and online content to enhance product visibility.

  • Organize offline promotional events, exhibitions, trade fairs, and product demonstrations to showcase products locally, nationally, and internationally.

Team Coordination & Reporting:

  • Coordinate with production, design, and quality control teams to align products with market demand and quality standards.

  • Supervise marketing staff and vendors involved in promotional activities as well as manage relationships with external vendors, media partners, and advertising agencies.

  • Prepare regular reports on marketing activities, campaigns, sales impact, and market insights.

  • Monitor KPIs and recommend improvements to enhance marketing effectiveness.

Safeguarding

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
