Project Brief:

The Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (RWVL) project aims to improve women's and girls' access to human rights in all their diversity and to advance gender equality in Bangladesh, led by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) and funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). This project will focus on empowering diverse voices and strengthening collective actions to advance women’s human rights by addressing gender-based violence (GBV), sexual and reproductive health & rights (SRHR), inclusive economic empowerment (iEE), and ensuring safety and security of project participants.

As an implementing partner of MJF, Katnarpara Nari Unnayan Sangstha (KNUS) will implement the project at grassroots level in Sariakandi Upazila under Bogura District. This project will focus on issues categorized across various pillars. Pillar 1: Will support organizational capacity and sustainability in areas such as (i) governance improvement; (ii) financial system development; and (iii) policy articulation. Pillar 2: Will contribute to gender equality programming and advocacy at the grassroots level through (i) supporting agency creation, (ii) promoting women’s leadership, (iii) providing knowledge and skill building, to challenge social norms and practices that oppose women’s rights. (iv) implementing social campaigns and mass awareness events, and (v) facilitating inclusive economic empowerment and entrepreneurship interventions.

Job Profile:

The Field Organizer will play a frontline role in mobilizing communities, organizing women’s and girl’s groups and circles, facilitating grassroots engagement, and supporting the implementation of project activities at union and village levels and support engagement with beneficiaries and stakeholders.

This is a highly field-oriented position requiring strong community engagement skills, sensitivity to gender and social inclusion issues, and the ability to work closely with marginalized and structurally excluded women and girls.

The Field Organizer will support circle formation, awareness campaigns, advocacy events, data collection, and economic empowerment activities in coordination with the Project Officer and MEAL team. The Field Organizer will also contribute for advancing the rights of women and girls, particularly those structurally excluded, while supporting monitoring, documentation, accountability, and alignment with organizational goals. This position is based at Sariakandi Upazila with regular travel to engage with project participants at the village level (4 unions) of Sariakandi upazilas.

Working Conditions

This is a field-intensive position requiring at least 80% of time engagement at community level across project unions in Sariakandi Upazila. Frequent travel within project areas is required.

Key Responsibilities & Roles:

Community Mobilization & Group Formation

  • Mobilize women and girls at community level and formation of women’s circles/groups.
  • Conduct regular circle meetings and ensure active participation.
  • Identify potential women leaders and support leadership development.
  • Facilitate community dialogue sessions on gender equality and women’s rights.
  • Formation of neighborhood men & boys, spouse, parents, club support groups.

Implementation of Field Activities

  • Support organizing training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns at union and village levels.
  • Assist in conducting advocacy events, social campaigns, and community mobilization initiatives.
  • Provide logistical support during field-level activities. 
  • Assist beneficiaries during economic empowerment and entrepreneurship interventions. 

Monitoring & Documentation Support

  • Support data collection through surveys, attendance sheets, beneficiary lists, and activity reports.
  • Ensure proper documentation of participant information and activity records.
  • Assist MEAL team in collecting gender-disaggregated data.
  • Report field-level observations and challenges to the Project Officer.

Safeguarding & Inclusion

  • Promote safe, respectful, and inclusive participation of women and girls.
  • Ensure safeguarding principles are maintained during all activities.
  • Report any safeguarding or protection concerns following organizational procedures.
  • Encourage participation of marginalized women, returnee migrants, and women with disabilities.

Coordination & Networking

  • Maintain regular communication with community leaders, local representatives, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support coordination with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and women’s rights organizations.
  • Represent KNUS in village-level meetings when assigned.

Any Other Responsibilities

  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Project Officer or Project Manager as required for effective implementation of the project.
