• At least 5 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and learning, preferably in the NGO sector.

• Proficiency in data management tools, including MS Excel, SPSS, or other statistical software.

• Strong understanding of M&E frameworks, tools, and reporting mechanisms.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

• Demonstrated ability to create impactful success stories and case studies.

• Strong commitment to gender sensitivity and social inclusion principles.

Uttaran is the host organization of the Fishnet Consortium invites applications for the vacant position titled- MEAL and safeguarding for secretariat

Reports to: Director and HOP of Uttaran

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• The MEAL and safeguarding for secretariat will be responsible for the following tasks (including but not limited to): Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (M&E)

• Collaborate with the Consortium Project Coordinator to design, plan, and execute the M&E framework of the project.

• Ensure proper preservation of project-related Monitoring and Evaluation documents, reports, publications, and other relevant materials.

• Demonstrate knowledge of qualitative and quantitative M&E systems, large database management, and monitoring of access to resources and services.

• Manage M&E/MIS database, including template design, data entry, cleaning, and logical checks of monitoring data.

• Monitor and evaluate field-level project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.

• Safeguarding

• Respond in a timely manner to safeguarding concerns to ensure pupils are kept safe from harm.

• Pro-actively work with parents / carers and other agencies through joint planning and monitoring of their arrangements for the safeguarding of children.

• Report to the Safeguarding Lead on all safeguarding concerns to ensure they retain oversight of Safeguarding within the project and consortium.

• Reporting

• Prepare event reports, monthly, quarterly, annual, and other reports as per donor and organizational requirements.

• Create compelling success stories and case studies, supported by photographs, to highlight project achievements and impacts.

• Work with relevant committees and working groups to implement program activities per the work plan and M&E plan.

• Ensure the submission of weekly/monthly activity plans and their alignment with project requirements.

• Implementation and Quality Assurance

• Ensure the implementation of all project activities qualitatively and quantitatively.

• Support project staff in monitoring and evaluating project outcomes to ensure the achievement of expected results.

• Foster accountability and learning practices within the project to enhance its impact.
