Education

• Essential : Higher Secondary Education (HSC) certificate

• Desirable : Bachelor's degree in social work/counseling or nursing.

Experience

• Essential: 1 year working experience in a similar position

• Desirable: Previous experience in MSF or with other INGO/ NGOs

Training

• Training on health-related topics and modules (for example Health Education, Nutrition, Counselling, Group Counselling, Health Promotion) is desirable.

Language

• English is desirable.

• Rohingya/ Chittagonian dialect is essential.

Knowledge

• Desirable: Basic computer skills (MS word, MS excel)



Responsibilities & Context:

Accountabilities

• Actively promote the availability of MSF services

• Carry out, individually or in group, basic counseling and/or educational sessions, to HepC patients, their families, hospital staff and/or the community

• Refer patients when necessary to other specialists or external actors in order to provide the best available support

• Collect and report specific information related to the target group

• Keep files and statistics updated about the counseling and/or educational activities

• Give testimonies to patients and in the community on own experiences as a patient.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

Patient Education and counseling:

• For all new and old Hep C patients: provide basic education about the disease, mode of transmission, how to prevent and treatment plan.

• Check with clinician if need for tailored education information

• Communicate with patients/caretakers the decisions taken by clinicians/nurses regarding the health status and next steps of management

• Organize group sessions for patients PCR negative before leving the health facility.

Patient-centered care (PCC):

• Collect feedback of patient experience in the clinic

• Share observations for improvement in regards with PCC and share with Supervisors

• Implement PCC improvement ideas as guided by PCA (Patient-Centered Approach) focal and supervisor

• Facilitiate peer counselling and health education sessions

• Assist MSF clinical and non-clinical professionals whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of Patient Support Education Counselling (PSEC) activities.

• Support medical team in communication with patient, if required (Translation Bangla to Chittagonian/Rohingya)

• Liaise with HP team to plan and follow defaulters.

Community engagement and Health Education

• Contribute with the HP team identifying critical topics to follow in the community.

• Give regular feedback to the team about patients’ and caretaker’s perceptions about the program in order to tailor the messages and include people’s feedback in the implementation of the activities.



Job Other Benifits:

    Contract and Benefit

    This is a Fixed term position.

    • Salary according to level 4 (four) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 55,500 Gross).

    • Salary is not negotiable.

    • Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule.

    • 2 annual leave days per month worked.

    • Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.

    Others Benefit

    There are no provisions for relocation.
