Education
• Bachelor in social science/ Sociology is essential.
Experience
• At least 2 years in health education/promotion or teaching is essential.
Language
• Bengali and Local language essential. English desirable.
Accountabilities
Organize and deliver health education sessions, messages and topics addressed to different populations regarding hygiene, diseases and prevention.
• Ensure all the patients and caretakers are well informed, according to protocols, about health related issues and services provided.
• Monitor health situation and living conditions of the patients and caregiver by collecting information related to food security, checking vaccination status of children, looking actively for any defaulters in programs that require this type of research, collecting information on number of people arriving or leaving the community, births and deaths in the community, etc.
• Identify people with medical problems, contact with medical team and report for immediate transfer if needed. He/she has to inform to the line manager about any problem encountered (population, equipment, material).
• Report to line manager of all results of activity and visits on a regular basis.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
• Guaranteeing the confidentiality, impartiality and neutrality of the organization
• Re-presenting MSF within the community population and maintaing good relationship with beneficiaries and the community representative.
• Act as a mediators between the community and medical team in order to deliver effective medical services to the community.
• Flexible to support with medical acitivities.
• Conduct service promotion through health education session.
• Support medical staff to reduce DAMA cases by counselling.
• Conduct health education session with flipchart in dynamic and creative way.
• Prepare and submite daily, weekly and monthly report.
• Support medical staff to understand patients culture and practice.
• Provide required support to medical staff by counsell the patients.
• Conduct hygiene education during meal time and prevent eating in the department.
• Informed and encourge patients and caregiver about IPC ptotocol and Visitor policy.
• Sensitize patients, caregiver and community people about Patients rights, responsibility and feedback process.
• Inform patients and community people about hospital ettiqute, hospital rules and regulation.
• Take part of the patients satisfaction survey and other health related survey in the hospital.
• Support medical team to find out patients attendance of unattended patients in urgent situation.
• Support and counselling the referral patients and link between the patients and their relatives while PSS and nurses facing difficulties.
• Identifying the gaps and barriers prohibiting patients and community people from accessing the full range of services that are available to them and advocate to relevant department.
• Support community outreach activities when required.
Contract and Benefit
This is a Permanent contract position.
Salary according to level Two (Level 3) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 45,000 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.
Others
There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
